But did you know that it took one woman four decades to earn Turkey Day a spot as a national holiday (during which time the Civil War took place and the U.S. went through five presidents)? One of the largest holiday light shows in the State is held in downtown Wendell. Wendell Wonderland is open to the public and will be located in our historic downtown at 210 E. Fourth St. (corner of Hollybrook Rd. and Fourth St.). This event will come alive with an array of dancing lights and music beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 6pm. Light Show is canceled if raining or snowing. Event hours are from 6-10 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays and 6-11pm. on Fridays and Saturdays. The Town of Wendell will also kick-off the 2013 holiday season on Nov. 22 at 6 pm with a “Lighting of the Square” event in downtown that includes Santa and holiday entertainment.
